Youth Group Bonfire Night will be on Saturday, October 18 from 7-10pm at the home of our youth pastor, Trent Mounsey. There will be outdoor games and s’mores.
Fall Break is October 20-24. There will be no Wednesday night programs on Wednesday, October 22. Enjoy your week of fall break!
Church and Parsonage Repairs are listed on sign-up sheets at the coffee bar. Take a look and see which projects you feel comfortable taking on. Please check with Rachel Parteko before purchasing any supplies, as they may have already been purchased. Then feel free to complete your projects in your free time. Thanks in advance for your service!
A Matching Campaign to raise funds to replace the AC units at the parsonage is underway. A generous donor has offered us half the cost ($2250) if we as a church can raise the other half. Our goal is to reach this amount by Thanksgiving. We have launched a new shirt design to go toward this campaign, and all donations are welcome! Please clearly mark checks and envelopes with “Parsonage” or “Matching Campaign.”
Shirt Fundraiser: We’ve launched a new design for our next shirt fundraiser! All proceeds from this round of shirts will go toward our Matching Campaign for the parsonage. Please email the office at ocn.churchoffice@gmail.com or sign up in the foyer to get your shirt ordered. Orders and money are due by Sunday, November 23 in order to have these ready before Christmas.
Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are underway as we begin collecting items to fill 50 boxes this Christmas. Tags are located in the foyer at the missions cart. Right now we are collecting one-subject notebooks. Our Box Packing Party will be on Sunday, November 9, right after service. Lunch will be provided. Please sign up at the coffee bar.
Sidewalk Maintenance Crew is assembling to care for our sidewalk and parking lot during the frosty, snowy months. Sign up at the coffee bar to take a month of maintaining the safety of our church family!
Happy Harvest Goode-Grab will take place on Friday, October 31 from 6-8pm. If you would like to decorate a space and hand out candy to families from the community, please sign up at the coffee bar with your space preference.
Our Annual Chili Cook-Off will again take place in conjunction with our Goodie-Grab event. The cook-off begins at 4:30p and wraps up in time to welcome trick-or-treaters at 6pm. Sign up at the coffee bar if you wish to participate. Everyone is invited to attend!
Gift Card Fundraiser: We have an on-going fundraiser through RaiseRight.com. When you purchase gift cards for any amount from a variety of participating vendors, the church receives a percentage of your purchase – at no extra cost to you! Gift cards can be selected as e-cards or physical cards. Physical cards can be ordered through the church to cut down on shipping fees. Please see Amber Campbell or Jan Roop with any questions.
Stitches of Hope: Every Friday from 10am-12pm, join a fun group of artisans as they gather to knit, crochet, and fellowship! Items made by these skilled and loving hands include hats, angel gowns, lap blankets, prayer shawls, and more! These items are donated to nursing homes, hospitals, and wherever a need is present! Don’t know how to knit or crochet? These experts are willing to teach!
We look forward to seeing you at our worship services! Sunday Worship Service begins at 10:30am. Midweek programming for kids (PreK-5th) and teens (6th-12th) takes place every Wednesday from 6:30-7:30pm.
